Where to Take Out the Best Bites in Austin (3/11/2021)

March 11, 2021

Well, now that we’re past Snovid and most everyone I know has water and hot water back, I’m feel energized and ready to get out there and support local restaurants via take out. The last few weeks were a doozy but Spring is ahead (so is Spring Forward this weekend). Please be respectful of restaurant staff and wear a mask when you pick up take out! I’ll be out there double masking.

I’ve made it my mission to support as many local Austin restaurants as I can through take out. I know many of you are wanting to try new-to-you spots so here is another list of my favorite spots with the best bites I’ve ordered for take out! Get out there and support local Austin if you can. Our restaurants in Austin sure could use the support!

Remember that pictures and videos are in the Vessel Map rather than down below. If you click on a particular location, you’ll have the option to go to their website, check out a menu and see my pics and/or videos per location.

Sazan Ramen

If you’re like me and want a less heavy broth, Sazan Ramen has your new favorite paitan ramen (a blend of chicken and pork broth). If you’re vegan, they have something for you too! I’ve tried the Ma-Yu Ramen and the Spicy Paitan – both have been absolutely divine and totally hit the spot on rainy/chilly days in the past. Oh, also pro tip, they have Steamies Dumplings on their appetizer menu and YOU NEED SOME! Thank me later.

Epic Poke

Ok wow, so my husband found Epic Poke while googling places close to our new house off 183 and I was skeptical initially and then WOWED when I tried their poke. If you remember Nancy’s Sky Garden up off 290, this is in the same spot, by the same owners, just focused on healthy eats and poke. ORDER THE POKE NACHOS if you see it on the menu. Do not think twice.

Missed my last roundup? No worries, I’ve linked it here -> Where to Take Out the Best Bites in Austin 2/11/2021

Charoen Express

If you’re not familiar with the ghost/cloud kitchen concept, familiarize yourself and get out there and support one or more of the restaurants utilizing this setup. Charoen Express is at the Cloud Kitchen off of IH35 and has the best Thai food in Austin! Yes, bold claim but it’s true and I have others who would wholeheartedly agree. I devoured their Pad Thai, Tom Kha Soup and Beef Panang Curry. Next time, I’ll try their crab rangoons for sure because they come highly recommended. Oh and their pineapple fried rice!

I hope you enjoy these spots this week! Feel free to check out all the previous roundups I’ve put together with recommendations for take out. I’ve been writing these since last July so you’ve got tons of restaurants to check out!

Bon Appetite,

Shveta
