We’re coming up on the end of August omg! I’m still going strong on my take out game and haven’t dined out anywhere but maybe once it’s cooler out, I’ll venture out to a outdoor dining situation. We’ll see!
I’ve made it my mission to support as many local Austin restaurants as I can through take out. I know many of you are wanting to try new-to-you spots so here is another list of my favorite spots with the best bites I’ve ordered for take out! Get out there and support local Austin if you can. Our restaurants in Austin sure could use the support!
Remember that pictures and videos are in the Vessel Map rather than down below. If you click on a particular location, you’ll have the option to go to their website, check out a menu and see my pics and/or videos per location.
Word of Mouth Bakery
Some of the best sandwiches I’ve had in Austin are from Word of Mouth Bakery. They’re all stacked! Also, the focaccia is fluffy and fabulous! They also make my favorite kale salad – it’s their Lemon Kale Salad and it’s chopped up into tiny pieces (just like I like it). The baby croutons and the currants are wonderful additions. I can’t talk highly enough about this deliciousness. Also, add some chicken breast if you want for a super filling lunch! Oh, and their pastries, cookies, cupcakes are amazing so order something sweet with your take out order.
Missed last week’s roundup? I’ve got 3 other take out recommendations for you here -> Where to Take Out the Best Bites in Austin 8/21/2020
Loro
Two famous Chefs came together to create Loro and if you love Uchi and Franklin BBQ, then Loro needs to be on your list! I have never been disappointed by anything I’ve had there so be sure to try everything! Most recently, we had the Beef Brisket Sandwich and the Malaysian Curry Chicken Rice Bowl and swooned! Try the chicken karaage, corn fritters, Loro cheeseburger as well and wash it all down with a frozen G&T!
TenTen
I’ve had sushi a few times for take out and TenTen definitely has the take out game sorted out! Everything we ordered traveled well and the portions were appropriate! They’re pricier than other spots but their fish is very high quality so I don’t mind spending a bit more for quality. The Chirashi Bowl is a must! I love their hamachi carpaccio, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, chirashi roll, and chicken kaarage!
I hope I’ve inspired you to try one of my recs this week! You can’t go wrong with any of them. Until next week…
Bon Appetite,
Shveta
