Where to Take Out the Best Bites in Austin (7/31/2020)

July 31, 2020

Here we are, another week and another list of some of my favorite spots with the best bites I’ve ordered for take out! Get out there and support local Austin if you can. Our restaurants in Austin sure could use the support!

I’ve changed this post up a bit and you’ll see all pictures and/or videos in the Vessel Map rather than down below. If you click on a particular location, you’ll have the option to go to their website, check out a menu and see my pics and/or videos per location.

Hank’s

There are so many reasons why I like Hank’s – ambiance, food, drink, dogs – but during these strange times, they’ve got drive-thru available and I’m loving that I can still get my Hank’s favorites at home (including frose)! If you’re feeling comfortable to dine-out on their patio, you can – they’re open!

I love their veggie burger so much. It’s the only veggie burger I’ll eat. Their spicy chicken sandwich is amazing! Oh, also their warm quinoa bowl is delightful. Always grab a frose or paloma too – they’re both frozen and fabulous!

Little Deli

Little Deli was closed for a while during shelter-in-place and are back open for take out and I’m thrilled. I love their sandwiches and pizzas oh so much! We try to branch out with the pizzas but tend to get the America vs Leon one because it’s craveable. Their Italian sandwich is to die for. Their double chocolate cookie with nuts is gluten free and DELISH! Oh and I love their salads to load in with some veggies before #carbs! They have two locations so whether Crestview or the one in Windsor Park is more convenient, just call ahead and place your order!

Check out last week’s roundup with 5 other restaurants includedWhere to Take Out the Best Bites in Austin 7/24/2020

Bento Picnic

When I want an #eattherainbow dish or something comforting and healthy, Bento Picnic is on my speed dial! There are way too many reasons why Bento Picnic has to be on your take out schedule but in quick summary – healthy food, super nourishing and satisfying, mindful ingredients, the sweetest owner and Chef and they’ve even got natural wines to buy by the bottle! Convinced yet? A few of my favorites: Avocado Bowl, Chicken Curry Bowl, Soba Noodles with Salmon, um, anything really! Save room for dessert – they’re guilt-free 🙂

Austin Daily Press

I’ve been obsessed with ADP since they were just 1 location on MLK. Now they’ve got 3 for all your torta, taco and hushpuppy needs in East and South Austin! Some of my go-tos are Lucy Tacos, Lucille Torta, Cauliflower Chorizo & Pickled Onion Panini, Jalapeno Hushpuppies, Lavender lemonade. The E. Cesar Chavez has brunch on the weekends and you need everything!

Vic and Al’s

From the same owners and Chefs of Patrizi’s, Vic and Al’s serves up cajun staples that this cajun girl loves!! Get any of their creations on greens, rice or as a poboy – I recommend the catfish poboy for sure and their gumbo. MMMMMMMM! Oh, they’ve got an amazing cocktail program too so wash all that amazing grub down with a Sazerac or a Hurrican (relive your NOLA days).

I can’t wait to share more of my recommendations next week. Until then….

Bon Appetite,

Shveta
