Another week, another list of some of my favorite spots with the best bites I’ve ordered for take out! Get out there and support local if you can. Our restaurants in Austin sure could use the support!
As you’ve seen from my previous posts, the embedded Vessel Map below includes a visual of the restaurants mentioned below. If you click on a particular location, you’ll have the option to go to their website, check out a menu and see my pics and/or videos per location.
School House Pub
We fell in love with School House Pub before COVID and have continued to get take out from them while staying home. Some of our favorites are their fish and chips, chicken gyro wrap with onion rings (these are HUGE) and savory popcorn. They also have family meals too so order the burger kit, fish and chips kit or wings! All of their cocktails are delish and strong – enjoy!

Lucky Robot
Honestly I love all things Lucky Robot and was so sad when they closed on my birthday, March 24th 🙁 but they reopened for dine-in, take out and delivery and I got take out from them the day the reopened! They’ve got a killer deal – 5 for $55 – and it’s alot of food and we usually have leftovers (and they still taste good as leftovers). Some of my favorite dishes would be: Brussel Sprouts, Chicken Karaage, Spinach Dumplings, Lomo Itame, Schoolgirl Bowl, Chirashi Bot, Mushroom Yaki, Sea-3po, R2D2, and the Farm Bot.

Check out last week’s roundup with 5 other restaurants included here – Where to Take Out the Best Bites in Austin 7/10/2020
The Cavalier
Another East ATX gem close to our house, The Cavalier, has some of the best family meals we’ve had – hello chicken tenders and fries! The couple that owns Cavalier is so sweet too and you just want to support them and their little family. Their burger made my Where to Take Out the Best Burger in Austin roundup for a reason – so so juicy, thicc and satistfying!

Saigon Le Vendeur
I think Saigon Le Vendeur has the best banh mi sandwiches in Austin! I particularly love the spicy chicken banh mi but if they’ve got curry ramen on the menu (usually when it’s cold out), I always order it. This truck has everything you need to satisfy your Vietnamese food cravings!

Salty Sow
I visited Salty Sow right before we shut down in Austin and when they reopened for take out, I had to hit them up. I had a serious fried chicken craving and I wanted to try the Blanche frozen marg! The fried chicken was outstanding even for take out and the Blanche was strong and delish! They’ve got the take out game figured out and I’d recommend anything there to eat at home. Don’t forget to order the deviled eggs!

Well, I hope these recommendations give you some good ideas of local spots to support this week. I promise you won’t be sorry with anything you get!
Bon Appetite,
Shveta
