Where to Grab An Incredible Sandwich in ATX

I LOVEEEE a good sandwich that has me craving the same one over and over again. Growing up, I would make the same sandwich to take for lunch at school EVERY DAY for a year – and then, I’d get sick of it (after eating it every day for a year) and switch to another. I’m so weird right? One year it was turkey and pepperjack cheese. Another year it was smoked ham and cheddar. Another year it was cracked pepper turkey and pepperjack. Point is, me and sandwiches go wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back!

So here are the spots that I love to enjoy a good ole sammie at the moment – the list can AND WILL change given my mood 🙂 My favorite embedded Vessel map below has pictures by location, so check it out for the full scoop and mouthwatering pics/videos!

Little Deli & Pizzeria

Hello hidden gem of a pizza and sandwich shop in the Crestview neighborhood! Why the heck didn’t I go here sooner? We showed up at a random time on a Saturday – random meaning not lunch or dinner time but right smack in between aka 3PM-ish. They were packed! Kids, dogs, adults sitting outside and ordering inside…I mean, the weather that day was epic so I can’t blame people for hanging, but woah, I was shocked!

Loved the Italian Sub and the Chicken Salad so much and we’re heading back soon for some ‘za!

Address: 7101-A Woodrow Ave.

Hours: Monday-Sat 11AM-9PM

Website: https://littledeliandpizza.com/index.html

The Italian Sub – isn’t that just gorgeous?

Otherside Deli

When this hot spot opened up off W. 34th Street, it became the talk of the town! Quite literally, my Instagram feed blew up with pictures of their reuben and pastrami sandwiches.

Being married to one of the biggest pastrami lovers I know, I made it my mission to take the Hubs there. In fact, I love him so much that I took him there for his birthday weekend 🙂

I ordered the Otherside Italian for myself and hubs got the Otherside (with Pastrami), and I quote him “This is the best pastrami I’ve ever eaten.” So there folks…I’m not sure why you aren’t headed there as you’re reading this!

My Italian sandwich was one of the best I’ve had as well. Love their house vinegar that they add to it. And pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee don’t leave without ordering a chocolate chip cookie with sea salt sprinkled on top – best cookies in Austin post coming soon, FYI!

Address: 1104 W. 34th Street

Hours: Monday-Sunday 10AM-5PM

The Otherside – Pastrami

Carpenter’s Hall

I’m quite literally obsessed with the new Carpenter Hotel. Have you been? From delish golden lattes, to super amazing pastries, to incredible BRUNCH, LUNCH, DINNER AND LATE NIGHT, you will not go wrong here. They’re open to the public so you don’t have to actually stay there to enjoy their food.

I’ve tried a heck of a lot of food there and I can’t tell you if there is one thing that is my favorite. I’d eat everything I’ve eaten again and again!

Their sourdough bread is quite beautiful and perfectly prepared. A friend of mine had the Roast Beef Sandwich and really enjoyed it. Hubs got the Reuben – TALK ABOUT STACKED! Too big to hold both halves in one hand for a pic, y’all. Also, too dang delicious to not finish on the spot 🙂

Address: 400 Josephine Street

Hours: Daily 7AM-Midnight

Reuben and Fries – massive sandwich!

Austin Daily Press

This favorite Eastside spot of mine has shown up in a couple of my blog posts for many reasons. 1) epic sandwiches 2) 2 locations within 2 miles of my house 3) JALAPENO HUSHPUPPIES 4) lots of veggie options for those days you need to eat veggies but you don’t feel like eating a dinky salad.

Their bread for the Tortas is incredible. Made by Bellows Bakery, the rolls are freaking delish – like you could eat them on their own – but whyyyyy do that when you can eat a delish roll stuffed with all the goodness?

A couple of my faves happen to be their veggie options – Caul Me and Mad Beets. I equally love the Lucille (think banh mi sandwich) and the Charlie (flank steak).

ALWAYS pair your sandwich with an order of jalapeno hushpuppies. If you don’t, I will disown you – NOT JOKING!

Address: 1900 E. MLK Jr. Blvd. and 4620 E. Cesar Chavez St.

Hours: MLK – Breakfast Monday-Friday 9AM-11AM; Lunch/Dinner Monday-Sunday 11AM-10PM. Cesar Chavez Breakfast Monday-Friday 8AM-11AM; Lunch Monday-Sunday 11AM-4PM; Dinner Thursday-Saturday 4PM-9PM

Website: https://www.austindailypress.com/

Mad Beets – it’s LOADED!

Walton’s Fancy & Staple

I’m kind of jealous of people who live in walking distance of Walton’s. I’d be there all the time if I lived close or worked nearby. Parking isn’t the easiest given all the construction on W. 6th these days. However, if you’re in the area, please drop in and eat EVERYTHING!

They’ve got a Fancy Lunch option that is my go-to – half of a Ham on Pretzel and a Cesar Salad. Their pretzel roll with Ham is the perfect combo! Treat yourself afterwards (or before, I won’t judge) to a macaron or cake or a latte!

Address: 609 W. 6th Street

Hours: Monday-Wednesday 7AM-7PM and Thursday-Saturday 7AM-9:30PM and Sunday 8AM-4PM

Website: https://www.waltonsfancyandstaple.com/

Fancy Lunches for 2!

Loro

When two well-known Chefs/Restaurant Owners collaborate and open a restaurant together, YOU GO! Chef Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin combined their genius skills to create Loro. Think Asian Smokehouse when you go and plan to be pleased as heck.

Ok, so I think my favorite sandwich is one that has Turkey in it. And remember, hubs loves a good Reuben.

Enter Loro’s TURKEY REUBEN. It’s heavenly…you’ve got to try it and prove otherwise. The turkey is perfectly smoked. The sandwich is perfectly toasted. It can’t get any tastier…

Address: 2115 S. Lamar Blvd.

Hours: Sunday-Thursday 11AM-10PM and Friday-Saturday 11AM-11PM

Website: https://loroaustin.com/

Turkey Reuben – that muenster cheese is THIC!

Biderman’s Deli

This Jewish-inspired deli is serving up bagels, lox, matzo ball soup, and incredible deli sandwiches!

With two locations in Austin, you’re not too far from enjoying one of the best sandwiches in ATX. I stopped by the downtown location recently and ordered the Turkey & Swiss (surprise surprise)! I had to eat the sandwich in 2 sittings because that’s how huge it was! So so good…their bread, the turkey…the swiss. Gah!

And they now use Rosen’s Bagels for their bagels so EPIC AND INCREDIBLE BAGELS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR DEVOURING at breakfast too!

Address: 800 Brazos St. Suite 215 and 3742 Far West Blvd.

Hours: Downtown Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM and Saturday-Sunday 8AM-3PM; Far West Monday-Friday 7AM-7PM and Saturday-Sunday 7AM-4PM

Website: https://www.bidermansdeli.com/

Turkey & Swiss – barely holding on!

Uncle Nicky’s

The ultimate collab of Via313, Nickle City and Juniper, Uncle Nicky’s is the best of Italian sandwiches, pastries, Negronis all packed into the cutest Hyde Park neighborhood spot.

We went for a late dinner on a cold wintery day in the ATX, so it was quite crowded inside. They’ve got a cute patio but come on, it was too cold to sit out there the night we dropped in.

A counter-service spot, we ordered the Italian Tuna and Hots Sandwich, Classico Pane Tostato and the PB&J Pane Tostato.

Wowzasssssssssssssssssssssss….speechless, friends! Everything was so so good. The pane tostatos are small so get a few if you’re hungry. But they’re absolutely divine. The sandwich was substantial and LEGIT!

I’ll be going back in for lunch ASAP so I can get my hands on some of their Cruellers, donuts, ham & eggs!

Address: 4222 Duval St.

Hours: Daily 7AM-Midnight

Website: https://www.unclenickys.com/

Italian Tuna & Hots – perfection on a plate!

Easy Tiger

No sandwich list is complete with including Easy Tiger. Afterall, they make most of the bread that restaurants use for their own sandwiches!

With 3 locations in Austin – Linc, E. 6th and Cedar Park – they’ve pretty much got the city covered.

Any guesses what sandwich I love and get every time? Come on now…you know me! If you guessed Smoked Turkey, you’re the WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! I just can’t get enough of that avocado chimichurri and those pretty watermelon radishes inside.

Address: 709 E. 6th St. and 6406 N. IH 35 #1100 and 5001 183 Toll Rd. (inside 365 Whole Foods)

Hours: Downtown Monday-Wednesday 11AM-Midnight and Thursday-Friday 11AM-2AM and Saturday 10AM-2AM and Sunday 10AM-Midnight; Linc Sunday-Thursday 7AM-11PM and Friday-Saturday 7AM-Midnight; 365 Whole Foods Monday-Friday 7AM-9PM and Weekends 8AM-9PM

Website: https://www.easytigerusa.com/

Smoked Turkey – that bread tho!

Well folks, that’s all I got for you right now. If you can’t find a sandwich you like in Austin, I think it’s safe to say you’re hard to please 🙂

Stay tuned for some more sandwich recs as I eat them – you better believe there will be more turkey sandwiches coming to the list soon!

Bon Appetite,

Lucky Robot Serves Up Environmentally-Responsible Seafood That IS Delicious

Thanks to my foodie friend I met through Instagram, @AustinFoodAdventures, I had the opportunity to try out so many dishes on Lucky Robot’s lunch menu.

Lucky Robot has been on South Congress for as long as I can remember but only recently has it come to my attention that they’re Austin’s first sustainable sushi restaurant. I don’t know about you, but I’m hyper aware of how our food choices impact the environment and what is left of Mother Earth. It’s great to support a local restaurant that is offering up dishes with only environmentally-responsible seafood. By making that choice, they’re protecting the ocean and its inhabitants!

I’ve dined at Lucky Robot for dinner several times and finally tried out their lunch. The Chirashi Bot is only available during lunch and that’s why we chose lunchtime to visit! Boy am I so glad I got my hands on that beautiful bowl of all the sashimi! Gah, so dang good!

Feast your eyes on this bowl of tuna, salmon, amberjack, and striped bass sashimi on a bed of sushi rice, avocado, English cucumbers, daikon picklets and a 144 degree egg! I’ll be eating this for lunch everytime I visit Lucky Robot…believe me!

The Schoolgirl Bowl rings all things comfort. Loaded with chicken breast, scallions, and a ton of veggies, eat this dish WARM and savor every bite.

I love a good Okonomiyaki so when I saw they had the Nomnomiyaki on the menu, we had to order it. A Japanese savory pancake with PORK BELLY, napa cabbage, a sunny side up egg, spicy mayo, and all the goodness – you’re not going to want to leave a single drop!

Whenever there is Chicken Karaage on the menu, I get it. These spicy Japanese-style chicken nuggets are to die for!

Where my Vegan friends at? The Farmbot features local farm box veggies, red quinoa, avocado, CASHEW CHEESE in a soy paper – I COULD HAVE EATEN ALL OF THIS BY MYSELF!

Next time you’re out strolling Soco, stop at Lucky Robot and order a ton of Japanese goodness! You won’t go wrong with whatever you choose and you can rest easy knowing you’re eating sustainable fish too!

And if you needed even more of an incentive to go — Happy Hour is M-F from 4:00-6:00PM and they’ve got a weekend happy hour during their Tokyo Brunch from 10:30-11:30AM (brunch is 10:30-3:00PM).

If you need a lunch or happy hour date, hit me up!

Bon Appetite,

Shveta

Artista Rosso Now Open for Brunch!

I was invited in by Artista Rosso for a blogger’s brunch preview before the official launch of Brunch service on 12/1. I’m going to be a frequent brunch-er there because HELLO NUTELLA BAR!

If you’ve been to the space at Lamar Union, previously Delicious, the newly renovated spot features a market for the neighboring residents, a coffee bar, an extensive wine selection, a full draught beer selection and tons of grab-and-go items. They’ve also obviously got a kitchen and are whipping out amazing Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Happy Hour and Brunch!

As you can tell from the pictures below, we had a feast! I’ll definitely be visiting again very soon because they’ve got crepes (made to order with lots of nutella!), cannolis (fill them with goodness), and all kinds of other super addictive delicious items that I’m a fan of.

Egg Benedict – look at all that shaved ham!
Coffee Bar view
All the goodness – Breakfast casserole, eggs benedict, garden hash, fruit, toast, mimosas!

Next time you’re looking for a brunch spot, head on over to Lamar Union and dine at Artista Rosso. Treat yo self!

The Best Coffee Shops in Austin to Get Your Work On – 2019 City Guide

This guide to the Best Coffee Shops to #WorkFromCoffeeShop in Austin is part of the Austin Food Blogger Alliance’s 2019 City Guide. #atxbesteats

Updated February 2019

If you like looking at maps to find the locations and plan a walk, bike ride, rideshare, etc. then you’re going to love the map I’ve embedded into this post! I’d love your feedback on the map – if you expand it to full screen, you can click on a coffee shop in the listing and it’ll show you the pin on the map as well as some drink pics of mine to get you drooling! Call or check out a coffee shop’s website simply by clicking in the map. Go ahead, take a look, play a bit, and let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

The Guide:

I’m the biggest sucker for latte art and if any of you have ever grabbed a cup of coffee with me, you know that I beg (and bribe) Baristas to “make my drink look pretty please!” #sorrynotsorry

I’ve also been known to scout out coffee shops with WiFi since I work remotely on occasion.  I can appreciate a solid spot with an excellent choice of pastries, savories, lattes, adequate table space to spread out my laptop and other goodies, as well as feel like I’m somewhere vacation-y.

Thanks for stopping by to hear what I’ve got to say about my favorite caffeine-providing locations where you can also work and/or study around Austin!

First up, an East ATX gem, Sa-Ten Coffee & Eats.

Discovering this beautiful Japanese coffee and eats “mecca” in The Canopy was life-changing for me. I live only a mile away and am happy to boast that I’m a frequent flyer 🙂 Perhaps, I’d like to call myself their “Ambassador of all things yummy.” Because there are quite a few small businesses and art studios in the area, you’ll see people hosting meetings and talking strategy (as well as conducting some business deals). Nevertheless, Sa-Ten makes for the perfect spot for you to have a productive day working, meeting up a friend for a lunch/dinner/coffee date, stay warm with a hot bev in hand (cool off with an iced coffee during most of the year in Austin), or nourishing yourself with their ever-so-tasty bites.

Second location off of Airport Blvd. is NOW OPEN – Their new location is HUGE, has lots of seating options and tons of power outlets. While the Canopy location is so close to my house, the Airport location is just a tad bit further away and more of my vibe.

My fave: Almond Milk Latte with a splash of hazelnut. Try a peppermint mocha as well. Check out their monthly specials which are always perfection. Oh, and their Turkish Mint tea is great if you want an herbal tea.

WiFi: Yes, it works well and rarely kicks you out

Other Bevs: They’ve got beer, wine, and Juice Society!

Grub: Tons of options (toasts, curries, katsu, potato wedges) and they also have pastries from Quack’s and stroop waffles from Stroopclub

Bike Racks: Yep

Parking situation: Parking Lot for all of The Canopy and the Airport Blvd. location has parking as well as spots in the neighborhood and sometimes at the bakery next door

Website: http://www.sa-ten.com/

Address:

  • 916 Springdale Road, Building 3, Suite 101
  • 4917 Airport Blvd.

Specialty Creation – they make their own syrups and come up with the best monthly specials. This was the nutella latte.

Peppermint mocha (check out that art)!

Half of the space at the new Sa-Ten off Airport Blvd. – lots of seating!

Greater Goods – I might be here way too much!

Since Greater Goods opened on the Eastside, I’ve probably been there 75% of the days 🙂 Not mad about it. Have you been? It’s the most beautiful space I’ve been to in Austin. Hand’s down.

If you’re a matcha lover, their matcha is spectacular. I add just a splash of their housemade vanilla bean syrup to give it just a bit of a less-earthy taste.

If you love mochas, their Kali Mocha is everything!

They have a Fronks Latte – oh my word, so perfect! Fronks is a local business that makes nut milks!

If you like Bourbon, enjoy the Bourbon Latte or the McGregor (dark rose tea with bourbon syrup and milk of choice)!

Can you tell I’ve had the entire menu?

My fave: The McGregor and Matcha Latte with a splash of vanilla bean

WiFi: Yes indeed

Grub: They’ve got quite the selection of pastries (scones, croissants, biscuits, GFY items). I’ve heard a rumor they’ll have sandwiches soon.

Bike Racks: In the vicinity

Parking situation: They have an entire parking lot to themselves!

Website: https://greatergoodsroasting.com/

Address: 2501 E. 5th Street

The matcha at Greater Goods is really good! Add a splash of vanilla!

So creamy and satisfying! It’s tea y’all!

Perfect place to get your caffeine on, plan a trip, eat a scone!

Walton’s Fancy and Staple – the cutest spot for sandwiches, salads, epic desserts and of course, COFFEE!

I can’t recall the first time I laid eyes on Walton’s, but I do remember it being love at first sight. If you like feeling like you’re in an earthy garden with succulents and floral arrangements surrounding you all while nibbling on a macaron and sipping on a Turkish mocha, then Walton’s Fancy and Staple is the place for you!

Located on West 6th street, in the heart of all the excitement Austin has to offer, this little haven will quickly become your go-to spot for an indulgent latte and a perfectly-crafted sweet treat. I’ve worked from there many times as they have a quiet area in the back as well as counter space in the main dining area. It might get noisy during the lunch rush, but you’ll figure out a way to stay here a while.

My fave: The Turkish Mocha was to die for – not sure if they make it anymore. They know what they’re doing, so you won’t go wrong with a latte and syrup of your choice.

WiFi: Yep!

Grub: I order the “Fancy Lunch” and generally have half of a Ham on Pretzel and a side caesar salad. Get a dessert, please – macaron, slice of cake, whatever…just get something!

Bike Racks: In the vicinity or you can do what I do, lock my bike to a street parking sign.

Parking situation: They have street parking all around that area but you’ll have to pay the meter.

Website: https://www.waltonsfancyandstaple.com/

Address: 609 W. 6th Street

Turkish Mocha!

The Baristas know what they’re doing at Fleet Coffee!

Being an Eastsider, I passed the building where The Lost Well is located everyday and suddenly saw some activity going on at the far end of the place. After a lot of curiosity, patience and sleepless nights with anticipation, I came across an article in Eater Austin (I think), about Fleet Coffee. Reading that the owners are the best-of-the-best when it comes to Austin Baristas, I started stalking that location for an opening date. It opened in mid-2016, and I fell in love. What a place! It’s gorgeous, quaint, intimate and serves up the most unusual coffee “cocktails” you’ll ever get your hands on. Love their newly added patio with additional seating. Don’t let the tonic water in the E.T. scare you – that concoction is v good! They had a fruity pebble milk/treat at one point and they update their menu with new seasonal items regularly. If you want a good ‘ole dairy-free latte, they make their syrups in-house and they have a local almond milk (Dulcis), which is so good!

My fave: Cappuccino or a butterscotch almond milk latte

WiFi: Yep!

Grub: I think I’ve seen pastries. There is a taco truck in the parking lot and Gourmand’s is across the street.

Bike Racks: In the vicinity

Parking situation: They have street parking on Webberville

Website: http://www.fleetcoffee.com

Address: 2427 Webberville Road

Cappucino – that blue with the art – wow!

Houndstooth – serving up your dose of caffeine now on the Eastside off of MLK!

I’m not going to lie – when I heard a rumor that Houndstooth was planning a location on the Eastside, in the newly developed Platform apartments, I screamed! I have visited the Downtown location after going through the torture of finding a parking spot where I could pay the meter but only after having to circle the block probably 5 times before finding a spot on the street. I guess the downtown location caters more to those who work in the Frost Bank Tower and other walkable areas? Nevertheless, their third location in Austin is now open and I’ve already dropped in 3 times since they had their grand opening! Y’all, Houndstooth baristas KNOW how to make you a coffee drink. And don’t forget the super hi-tech fancy new espresso contraptions they have at their new location that keeps the temperature just right!

They have beer on tap, wine and other beverages too for all of you who aren’t coffee drinkers. Soon, they’ll be open until midnight! Woot woot! I was determined to enjoy a pretty drink (it was way later than I typically have caffeine, but whatever)!

My fave: An almond milk decaf honey latte. Oh, and the one time I had the stunning Rhum Nut Cappuccino (pictured below).

WiFi: Yep! Come with a fully-charged laptop though since they only have USB outlets for juice.

Grub: They have pastries (cookies, scones)

Bike Racks: In the vicinity

Parking situation: If you turn in to the Platform, there is retail parking behind the building Houndstooth is located. The location downtown is such a pain to access by car. Find a metered spot though. Can you believe the parking garages and parking lots are $10+ compared to $3 for 3 hours at a meter?

Website: http://www.houndstoothcoffee.com/

Address: 2823 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Suite 101

Rhum Nut Cappuccino. What a beauty!

Mocha cookie and a decaf honey latte!

The non-coffee line up!

Love the aesthetics!

Revival – they know the way to my heart!

If you’re looking for a quiet, comfy, inviting space on the Eastside, Revival is your place. I’ve seen this place expand and get a makeover the last three years, and while it is a little known gem, it should soon become your go-to!

If you want to wind down your workday and turn up the heat on your evening, stop on by for Beer and Wine and enjoy their beautiful outdoor patio! They’ve even juiced the patio with power outlets for your laptop powering needs.

My fave: An almond milk lavender vanilla latte.

WiFi: Yep!

Grub: They have La Patisserie pastries (cookies, scones), Green Cart sandwiches, and quite the selection of food trucks in their outdoor lounge area – including Boteco! They’ve got Stroopclub Stroopwaffles.

Bike Racks: Yes!

Parking situation: Behind the shop, street parking, and a couple spots out front if you need to grab and go.

Website: https://www.revivaltexas.com/

Address: 1405 E. 7th Street

Lavender Vanilla Latte!

Out of this world Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden

Even if you don’t live in South Austin, you should RUN, not walk, down to the new Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden off SoCo. It’s a magical place. There is no other way to describe all the feels I had while pulling in to the parking lot.

Their space is large, bright, and green with the coziest corners and lots of seating. They have a huge outdoor area with plenty of picnic tables, high tops, and fire pits. Stop by for food from some of my favorite food trucks in town, to a cocktail or beer flight, or all the caffeination options!

My fave: An almond milk latte with caramel, Irish Coffee, Cocktail Flights

WiFi: Yep! Perfect place to work as they’ve got power strips on the walls.

Grub: Pastries from Quack’s Bakery and several food trucks out front with plenty of seating all around. Be sure to get you some #newschoolBBQ from Leroy and Lewis or some tacos from an Austin staple, Pueblo Viejo.

Bike Racks: Nearby

Parking situation: A huge parking lot and street parking off Pickle

Website: https://www.cosmiccoffeebeer.com/

Address: 121 Pickle Rd.

Love the cabin look!

Irish Coffee

Latte and if you want booze, then an Irish Coffee

Juice Society

A long time staple of mine (way before Danielle Sobel opened up the shop) is Juice Society. If you haven’t been to the shop at Lamar Union, you’re really long overdue for a visit!

While you’re there working from one of their many cozy spots (all near a power outlet), grab you a Rose Matcha. It’s just too good. They’ve got a full blown Adaptogen Latte menu now too in addition to all your caffeine needs (without the jitters), so please GO!

My fave: Rose Matcha (it’s made with oat milk – they don’t have dairy at the shop) – or the Shroom Coffee!

WiFi: Yep! Perfect place to work as they’ve got power under each seat along the bench.

Grub: Think smoothie bowls, banana and almond butter toast, AVOCADO toast! Tons of grab-and-go parfaits and treats too.

Bike Racks: Nearby

Parking situation: There are several parking garages at Lamar Union

Website: https://www.juice-society.com/

Address: 1100 South Lamar Blvd, Ste. 1116

Beautiful aesthetic!
My favorite, Rose Matcha
Always get the Avocado Pesto Toast and a Rose Matcha

Hotel Coffee

Nestled in the Carpenter Hotel, this living room type of coffee shop has quickly become my go-to spot. It’s quiet, there are super comfy couches and a big table with chairs and instead of a jukebox, you can pick a record to play on the record player. All of the RETRO and VINTAGE vibes in this cutie.

My Fave: Golden Mylk – why? Because they use Curcuma’s Golden Paste and your nut milk of choice for golden perfection! It doesn’t have caffeine in it so if you need some fuel, don’t fret, they’ve got plenty to choose from.

WiFi: Yep! And they have ample power outlets nearby.

Grub: They’ve got tacos until they sell out and lots of pastries. I LOVED their chocolate chip sea salt cookie!

Bike Racks: Nearby

Parking situation: For customers, you can park in the garage or the lot by the actual hotel part of Carpenter’s Hotel.

Website: http://carpenterhotel.com/

Address: 400 Josephine Street

My jaw dropped when I walked in for the first time.
Choose your own vinyl!
My beverage of choice is their Golden Mylk – no caffeine in this one friends!

Figure 8 Coffee Purveyors

Tucked away in an East Austin neighborhood, Figure 8 is the perfect spot to get your work on or grab a cup of coffee. While we were there, I saw several people walking over from houses nearby. How cool right?

Anyway, I don’t stop by as often as I should considering it’s a 2-min drive from my house. Changing that pronto!

My Fave: Honestly, anything and everything is good here. I’ve noticed their drinks are creamier than elsewhere – definitely a good thing!

Wifi: They’ve got you connected!

Grub: Where my Taco Deli fans at? They’ve got tacos (while supplies last) and a few pastries.

Bike Racks: I didn’t look but I’m pretty certain they have a place for your bike.

Parking situation: Street parking

Website: http://www.figure8coffeepurveyors.com/

Address: 1111 Chicon

Almond milk decaf cappuccino – so creamy!

Manana

Nestled at the back of the South Congress Hotel, Manana is a magical space with everything you’d want for your coffee or espresso fix AND unique offerings such as paletas and ice cream!

Don’t leave without grabbing a giant macaron, cookie or doughnut either. They pair perfectly with your beverage of choice.

I really love the natural lighting in their space and the option to sit outside in the courtyard too!

My fave: Iced decaf almond milk latte with a splash of vanilla

Wifi: Yep!

Grub: They’ve got a fridge with grab-and-go items and pastries

Bike Racks: Nearby

Parking situation: The hotel has a garage and Manana might validate. There is also street parking nearby.

Website: https://mananaaustin.com/

Address: 1603 S. Congress Ave.

A Macaron and a Latte – what more could you want!

There is no shortage of Coffee Shops in Austin these days. I remember when there weren’t so many at all. But with such a large percentage of the workforce having the ability to work remotely, more and more places where you can work and caffeinate have popped up.

Other Coffee Shops I’ve definitely been super productive from over the years, but I don’t have pictures to give you all the latte love are:

Wright Bros. Brew & Brew – 500 San Marcos St.

Cenote – 1010 E. Cesar Chavez & 6214 Cameron Rd.

Seventh Flag Coffee – 1506 S. 1st St.

Stouthaus Coffee Pub – 4715 S. Lamar Blvd., #102

Merit Coffee – 222 West Ave., Ste. 120 &
1105 S. Lamar Blvd.

Nate’s Baked Goods and Coffee – 401 Orchard St., Suite B

Thunderbird Coffee – 2200 Manor Rd. & 1401. W. Koenig Ln.

Barrett’s Coffee – 713 W. St. John’s Ave.

Spokesman – 440 E. Saint Elmo Rd., A-2

Better Half Coffee and Cocktails – 406 Walsh St.

Epoch Coffee – 111 Sandra Muraida Way, Ste. 101 & 3 other locations

Of course, this list isn’t meant to be comprehensive. I have alot of favorite coffee shops not mentioned, but I took the liberty of focusing on those that are perfect for work, studying, a mid-day boost, or to fill yourself up with #atxbites.

You can betcha I’ll be adding and updating this in the months ahead, but until then, I hope you enjoy my recommendations!

Cheers!

-Shveta
