Lipton Chef Fest

November 1, 2016

We attended the Lipton Chef Fest this past weekend at Fair Market and boy was it SO MUCH FUN!

Saturday was a beautiful day for a garden party and right after we were greeted, guess where we headed – to a Garden Party! We all received mason jars to fill up with our iced tea of choice. They had the cutest “make your own iced tea” bar setup with fresh fruit, mint, lemons, lime and other add-ins.

Sweet tea with lime, of course!

Chef Curren and Chef Rockman were both there serving up some of their yummy creations. I even caught Chef Curren in action serving his uber delish, Roasted Mushroom & Goat Cheese Crostini!

Inside the event hall, they had a 180 degree photo booth setup with all the accessories to get your Chef On! We had a blast posing as contestants on Iron Chef and our picture came out really well (not going to include it here for public humiliation though, sorry).

To our surprise, they had setup at least 10 very long tables for a seated dinner! I guess I missed that memo. The setting was stunning and we had the chance to meet other attendees and celebrate over a family dinner cooked by Chef Michael Symon!

Chef Symon demo’d his porchetta while stressing the importance of community, breaking bread and making sure to add salt to your dishes! I’d never attended a Chef Demo before and this one came with the over head mirror so we could see what was going on at the counter where Chef Symon was working his magic.

And then, dinner was served by dozens of waiters swarming around us. Oh, did I tell you that iced tea, beer and wine was flowing?!? Unlimited… 🙂

This triple cheese macaroni was sooooo cheesy and tasty! I want this for Thanksgiving!

Chef Rockman, of South Congress Hotel’s restaurants, created a Lemon Tea Meringue Tart to celebrate her love for tea + lemonade = Arnold Palmer (RIP Arnie)! Arnold Palmer’s are my favorite too and this tart hit the spot after the super delicious dinner full of pork, chicken, macaroni, quinoa and other tasty entrees!

All in all, fun was had by all. ALOT of fun, that is. I’m honored to have attended this exclusive event and to have spent the evening under the same roof as Chef Symon!

Until next time, Bon Appetite!
