You’ve asked for a list of my favorite spots for my favorite ATX_Bites! Stay tuned to this page – it’s a living, breathing tab and I guarantee it will change – I mean come on, I’m picky, moody and my preferences change from day-to-day (I’m human and I’m not the only one who likes to change it up every now and then)! #notsponsored
My husband and I are always in the pursuit of all things happy hour in Austin. Mostly because some of our favorite bites are up to half off during happy hour so why pay full price?
We frequent Chicon as is evident from my Instagram, Yelp check-ins and the fact that know us when we walk in 🙂
Their happy hour is M-F 4:00-7:00PM and all night on Thursdays!
Our go-to eats are the Smoked Trout Dip and their carrot hummus (it’s seasonal so it can change) but regardless of what they use to make their hummus, IT IS SO GOOD!
Grizzelda’s happy hour runs Tues-Sat 5:00-7:00PM and all night on Thursdays!
Have you had their Ceviche Mixto?! OMG, it’s craveable and a must if you go there (during or after happy hour)! Their Tostaditas picadilo beef from Jacoby’s Ranch are also one of my faves! Get yourself a FroMo for $6 — be careful because it’s so good and strong and you may want a second one but you’ll definitely feel it the next day 🙂 Wines are $2 off per glass as well – they always have the most amazing selection and Vinho Verde rosés!
Revelry Kitchen + Bar
I’ve been a big time fan of Revelry Kitchen + Bar since they opened! The environment is nice, bright and open, and the staff are super sweet and have been there from the beginning! I’m the Duchess of RKB on Yelp and when that actually happened, the bar manager, Kyle, ordered a crown for me through Favor!
They have Happy Hour M-F 4:00-7:00PM and all night on Mondays! Select glasses of wine are 1/2 off, $2 House Cocktails, $1 off draft and $4 Wells, $3 Texas Cans, 1/2 off selected apps, and $5 RKB Sliders.
Their Chicken Lollipops are a must when you go for happy hour – they have some of the most creative flavors and right now, their Thai Green Curry is my obsessive sauce!
One of our East ATX favorites, Eastside Tavern, has the funniest board outside their building (like El Arroyo’s) and their daily pick-me-up quotes are hilarious! They serve up a killer happy hour M-F 3:00-6:00PM including tons of smoked bbq-based dishes and other staples.
If you love all things in a cast-iron skillet, then get their Frito Pie and Pickled Deviled Eggs. Both are $6 during happy hour! Their frosé was the first I ever had of the craze, and it’s oh so good and only $5 during happy hour! It was included in my frosé tour earlier this summer too 🙂
Blue Dahlia Bistro
I had no idea they have 3 locations until recently! Blue Dahlia has a fantastic happy hour including many of our favorites at a heavy discount! Their happy hour runs M-F 3:00-6:30PM and Sundays 6:00-9:00PM and includes this gorgeous meat and cheese board for $10! It comes with a selection of their fresh baked breads! My glass of wine was $5 and they have quite a few options (along with some draft beer).
What can I say about this place? Well, for starters, one of my favorite chefs in Austin, Chef Speer, is the owner and Executive Chef. He makes a mean burger that’s so simple but truly divine!
At Bonhomie, you can enjoy this burger during happy hour everyday from 3:00-6:00PM for only $6! Yes, you read that right – $6!!! They also have $5 classic cocktails to pair with your burger.
Look at all that cheese, caramelized onions, pickles and super fresh arugula!
New to Austin, ATX Cocina is not only stunning, has a very nice large space downtown, but serves up some killer Modern Mexican cuisine.
Their happy hour is M-F 4:30-6:30PM with $3 off cocktails, wine and draft beer, and $4 off select menu items.
I recently enjoyed happy hour on the back deck (stunning space) and nommed on the guacamole, housemade masa tortillas, queso fundido, and papusas. Don’t pass up a glass of wine as they have a huge selection, or a margarita!
Pro Tip: Park in the garage after 6PM (don’t park before then or you’ll pay $20+ but now they validate so be sure to bring your ticket in!) or find street parking (I didn’t have a problem finding a spot on a Friday).
